Matt has recently joined the Urban Fitness Team at the start of 2021. Prior to joining the team, Matt immersed himself in the health/fitness/sport industry from a very young age and has loved it ever since.

After finishing high school, he decided to make a career out of his passion. Wanting to learn more about the industry he completed his Bachelor’s of Exercise and Sport Science, gaining an abundance of information on training/recovery techniques, as well as general health and fitness tips.

Since studying Matt has spent the last 7 years in the fitness industry as both a Personal Trainer and Gym Manager.  His weekly training routine at Urban Fitness will include a mixture of resistance training, aerobic training and anaerobic training.

Matt looks forward to chatting with members about their own personal health and fitness goals and is always willing to give advice to anyone seeking help, additionally he loves to discuss all kinds of sport from around the world.

Devi Maro

SALES AND ADMIN

Devi came to the Urban in the beginning of 2021. Her journey in fitness may be an unexpected one; she says that if her high school self saw her today she wouldn’t believe the change fitness and health have made in her life.

From greatly disliking exercise to finding her passion for training, Devi has worked in fitness management for an extended period of time, as well as gone through years of personal experience with diet, exercise, nutrition and programming. Having done bodybuilding for several years, she is currently a powerlifter with a goal to compete in Australian Nationals.

Her drive to improve lives of others through health and fitness lead her to enrol into a  Certificate III in fitness, with the long term goal of becoming a strength coach.

SAM BENNETT

Personal Trainer

Sam is certainly not the skinny 16 year old kid who started off here as a member back in 2012. From completing his work experience right here at Urban Fitness, to now working as the Assistant Club manager and running his own personal training business, what started off as a hobby has developed into so much more.

Sam is passionate about improvement and thrives off seeing others succeed. He’s worked with many clients over the years between Urban and a corporate health club which he managed in Box Hill Hospital. Working with clients of all ages, disabilities, substance abuse and everywhere in between, Sam has a wealth of knowledge that he’d love to share with everyone here at Urban. TAYLAH BENNETT

PERSONAL TRAINER

Taylah comes to Urban from working for herself as a Mobile Personal trainer. She is best known for working with clients looking to lose weight, gain muscle and advice on general nutrition. 

Taylah is very goal-driven and thrives when she has a good challenge! One thing she is well known for is her high standards when it comes to training and besides getting great results – she has a huge belief in “Knowledge is best used when you are able to pass onto others”.

Tim Wright

Gym Floor Assistant

Timmy started at Urban as a member in 2016 and 4 years later finds himself in an Urban Fitness uniform! Timmy helps out with general cleaning around the gym along with friendly chats on the gym floor with all of our members and guests.

Timmy has had limited opportunities in the workplace, so we gave him a chance to join the team in January 2018 and he has impressed our staff and members with his bright and bubbly personality ever since.

Timmy is also a huge supporter of ‘The Pies!’
