Since school Ty’s passion for helping people through their health & fitness has been the driving force behind his success in the industry.

With a career focused on helping people and putting his clients first it has allowed him to reach some fantastic accolades including many national awards for his study, business success as well as commitment to the Australian Health & Fitness industry, Ty is certainly an industry leader.

Ty has recently sold 2 Franchised Facilities to open and grow The Urban Fitness Club brand to be a strong independent facility where you feel part of a community that cares rather than just another number.

Listening to our members is a key to success so with this in mind The Urban Fitness Club focus on delivering an affordable, friendly environment where staff are trained to know you, your ability and what’s important to you not just your name!


Dan Hayes (General Manager)

After graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science and Sport Management, Daniel moved to London where he ran a successful Personal Training Studio for two years.

He returned with a view to move into the management side of the industry and started with The Urban Fitness Club in November 2012 as a Sales Manager.

He took over as Club Manager in July 2013 and is looking forward to making The Urban Fitness Club Blackburn’s premier health and fitness facility.

Ryan joins Urban Fitness with a wealth of experience ranging from training elite athletes to managing a variety of health and fitness facilities, including rehabilitation & allied health clinics.

Formal qualifications in Exercise Science & physiology have been the foundation of Ryan’s career in the fitness industry. Ryan is extremely passionate about helping support individuals to reach their goals and become the best possible version of themselves.

Ryan’s vision to create a fun and friendly atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and empowered on their health and fitness journey.

Sam Bennett (Assistant Club Manager & PT)

Sam is certainly not the skinny 16 year old kid who started off here as a member back in 2012. From completing his work experience right here at Urban Fitness, to now working as the Assistant Club manager and running his own personal training business, what started off as a hobby has developed into so much more.

Sam is passionate about improvement and thrives off seeing others succeed. He’s worked with many clients over the years between Urban and a corporate health club which he managed in Box Hill Hospital. Working with clients of all ages, disabilities, substance abuse and everywhere in between, Sam has a wealth of knowledge that he’d love to share with everyone here at Urban. Anastasia Wolf (Personal Trainer)

Anastasia has always been passionate about health and fitness, commencing her career 9.5 years ago as a personal trainer, she is a mother so her heart lays with family fitness which inspired her to successfully run a mothers and children fitness business, until she decided she wanted to know all about the psyche and how to help people further, so went on to complete a Bachelor of Health Sciences.

Samantha Mcdonald (Personal Trainer)

Samantha has been working in the health industry for 8 years and training clients for 6 of those. In her 6 years of personal training Samantha has seen her clients grow and achieve goals from weight loss to muscle gain and these positive experiences have cemented her love for fitness and nutrition.

Sam brings together both exercise and nutritional guidance using her Transform Nutrition Program which she developed to better help her clients reach their goals. Whether the goal is weight loss, fat loss, muscle gain or just a generally healthy lifestyle, her Transform Nutrition Program is a great addition to her personal training.

Variety is key in Sam’s training and with her qualifications and experience in PT, Olympic weightlifting, boxing and kickboxing you can be sure that you will always have something to look forward to when you are training with her.

Tim Wright (Gym Floor Assistant)

Timmy started at Urban as a member in 2016 and 2 years later finds himself in an Urban Fitness uniform! Timmy helps out with general club maintenance and helps us come up wth our monthly fitness challenges.

Tim has had limited opportunities in the workplace, we gave him a chance to join the team in January 2018 and he has impress our staff and members with his bright and bubbly personality.
